Production Design
I have a minor in Production Design and have worked on various short films to bring the team's ideas to life and enhancing the visual storytelling. I believe in making every detail count towards the narrative.

This and the next slide are the only pieces of concept art we were given.

Drafting
I was given concept art for Age of Innocence in my Drafting for the Entertainment Industry class, then developed it into a 3d model and drafting package- including all dimensions, sections, elevations, lighting fixtures, detail callouts, and moulding- so that it could be handed to a real scene shop. Couches, desks, chairs, busts, and plants were found on SketchFab.
Set Decoration
Transformation
In my Set Decoration class, each person picked a random prompt and had to turn an existing room into that concept using primarily set decoration. Click on the image to see the description detailing my process.

These smaller props add to the lived-in feel.

Film Production Design
I was the PD for a large thesis production, titled "Go!", managing over $1K in props and leading the art department. Our primary location dropped out 1.5 days before the shoot, but the team and I managed to adapt to the new location in time to deliver the symbolic visuals required for the heartfelt story.
I was also a Co-PD on another thesis where we completely transformed 3 different locations. Click on the images to expand and see the descriptions of each set!

This is a still from our main location, the flower shop. The location was a traditional Mexican pottery shop, and twice the size. We kept the color palette almost dream-like since it was used for a flashback sequence. The shop was meant to be very modest, not a boutique by any means.

By using well-placed cabinetry, we were able to section off the second half of the store in a believable way. Sourcing the flowers and stands necessary for them was tricky, but ultimately successful.

The walls were completely white which didn't lend well to the shots the director was looking for. By simply taping up a paper roll that matched the gym colors, I was able to break up the white and create visual interest relating to sport motifs.

Set Painting
I was the set painter for a film called "Ship of Theseus". I painted wooden planks to look like old, rusted metal. I had a lot of fun using brushes and sponges to completely transform the material. Aging with paint is one of my favorite things to do. This is one of many set painting projects I did; I've painted and textured entire flats to look like concrete, barns, and many other facades.

Scenic Texturing
I was the art director and plasterer for a film called "She Was a Girl". I plastered large scenic flats to match references given by the Production Designer. I used sponges, scrapers, and more to achieve the look in a scene shop.

Not responsible for the brick, only the wall textures.

Facade Design
My class visited the WB backlot where each group selected a facade to turn into a record shop. I was in charge of the concept art for the signage and window decor. We gave the presentation complete with a prop breakdown, material callouts, itemized budget sheet, and setup/strike timeline.

Design Concept
Following a prompt that stated the world has been flooded and there is no evidence of humans, I designed this storytelling amphitheater the animals and fae could use. A giant crane wades through the waters, carrying animals on its back to the theater.

Done in Maya and Photoshop.

I wanted the iridescence of a spiderweb as the canopy. The swamp is set in cool tones with elements of magic throughout.

I knew I wanted some sort of water-adjacent animal. I loved the idea that a giant crane could wade through the flooded world, carrying animals on its back. I wanted them to be druid-like, made up of greenery. I liked the idea of water always dripping and flowing over it, belonging to the swamp.

Themed Entertainment
Bluesky Workshops is a themed entertainment design club at Chapman University.
I was a president and primarily work in concept and attraction design for our theme parks!
"Headless Hunt"
I designed this ride from scratch following the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" book.
